| Game Summary (Ralph Jones, NetFL Press) Ben Watson exclaimed, "We know it's going to be a hard-fought game when we play these clowns - tough, physical... It's important to win the physical football games because you put so much into it. We didn't do that today. Every time I looked up, I heard the crowd and I figured it was another turnover. It's tough to lose when you've worked all week. Mentally, you have to let it go." Well no kidding, Einstein. MHD was bad. Awful. Grotesque. An embarrassment to the league, I dare say. If Ben Watson's body of work exemplifies the high-point of your weekend, you know that you're on the losing end of a sordid, sick joke of a game. Words utterly fail to describe this romp into the realms of ineptitude. When Chekhov saw the long winter, he saw a winter bleak and dark and bereft of hope. Standing here in the garish, filth-ridden stands of this now-empty stadium after the game, I got to thinking - such is truly the fate of both fans of the MHD squad. In the end, this team is just hopeless.
So now the series stands SC leads the all-time series 18-9 against MHD. SC has a 5-7 regular season record (0-1 in this year's playoffs). MHD has a 3-9 regular season record. The latest (what I shall laughingly call a) contest saw SC has demoralized MHD as though they were horses being sent to the glue factory 43-21 in front of a despondent home crowd.
They were almost perfect on the SC squad even though they did not excel on either side of the ball last week as they racked up a combined 284 points, 174 on offense and 110 on defense. Eli Manning with 29 points on offense and Clark Haggans with 14 points on defense were the top scorers. All that aside, Don't Euthanize After Disaster award - given to one blundering fool each week - was really difficult to decide on this go around. I promise the poor slob that I won't be taking away his livelihood. This week, the DEAD man of the game goes to Levi Jones. In the end, these men are kinda like my kids. As any parent knows, from time to time, you just can't always get through to them without getting creative..."
Says Levi Jones, pouring out of a far-too-tight yellow bikini, "I have nothing to say about this."
Nick Barnett added, "Words fail me... got it? I ain't had a single night's sleep since coach made that call last Monday, man. I keep waking up screaming. I mean dang, man... time to put some time on the thigh-master."
"Dem's fightin' woids!": Fuel was added to the fire during the two teams' post game news conferences. Matthew R. Watson said, "Well, there's murderers, rapists, boy bands, and then there's that owner of theirs... Which is worst? Hard to tell sometimes." In response, the MHD coach said, "Like 'em? No... not really. I'd rather strangle puppies in front of a dozen orphans than pull that wretched owner of theirs out of a burning building." |
