| Game Summary (Earl Schmidt, NetFL Press) I get paid very well doing something I usually enjoy. There are, however, occasional games that I only report on under silent protest. Let me begin by being brutally honest. AW is quite the ascetic team, wholly outclassed in all aspects of the game by DS. Yikes! AW has just completed a game in which they, proverbially speaking, drove the family station wagon through the front bay window. To point fingers after this debacle would be unfair given that this most assuredly was a team effort - and that's the only positive spin I can put on the game.
Jamal Lewis grumbled, "We know it's going to be a hard-fought game when we play these clowns - tough, physical... It's important to win the physical football games because you put so much into it. We didn't do that today. Every time I looked up, I heard the crowd and I figured it was another turnover. It's tough to lose when you've worked all week. Mentally, you have to let it go."
Barry Cofield noted, "Word up... I ain't showed nothin' today 'cuz dey wuz cheating. No, I ain't sayin' dat... les jus say dat if the refs had any guts, dey woulda been throwin' their little yellow hankies all over 'round me. Da way I was disrespected out there was sick, dude."
DS has staggered AW like a mink that suddenly finds that a family of mice has taken up residence in her den, overcoming their foes by the tune of 23-7 in front of a jeering and hostile crowd. DS leads the all-time series 2-1 against AW. DS has a 4-8 regular season record. AW has a 4-8 regular season record. Things went very well for the DS squad even though they did not excel on either side of the ball last week as they racked up a combined 265 points, 145 on offense and 120 on defense. Larry Fitzgerald with 20 points on offense and Jared Allen with 18 points on defense were the top scorers. However, they were far from perfect. Said Coach/GM Jeffrey Leiss, "We have to get a lot better next week.. For one, Larry Fitzgerald played about as well as a frog pithed by an epileptic first-grader. Medically speaking, his body should be donated to science, there's so much wrong with him. At least, that's gotta be the case given the number of plays he likes to take off . As for those OST? They showed their ineptitude by amassing absolutely nothing while taking the day off. Overall though, the as voted on by his teammates, the most worthless player in this game was Steve Smith.
There's no love lost between these two clubs. Jeffrey Leiss groaned, "Well, there's murderers, rapists, boy bands, and then there's that owner of theirs... Which is worst? Hard to tell sometimes." In response, the AW coach exclaimed, "I feel kinda sorry for them, to be honest. I mean, how can you be that inept, that pitiable? I guess they occasionally get my blood flowing, but for the most part, playing them is about as exciting as rearranging my sock drawer." |
