| Game Summary (Ralph Jones, NetFL Press) Jon Beason exclaimed, "We had a chance at the beginning, man. We hung in there through the opening kickoff. We fought, but after that, we just didn't get her done. It's a bit disappointing, to be sure." Well no kidding, Einstein. SC was bad. Awful. Grotesque. An embarrassment to the league, I dare say. Yikes! SC has just completed a game in which they, proverbially speaking, electrocuted the dog with a toaster. To point fingers after this debacle would be unfair given that this most assuredly was a team effort - and that's the only positive spin I can put on the game.
So now the series stands MHD trails the all-time series 9-15 against SC. MHD has a 1-1 regular season record. SC has a 0-2 regular season record. The latest (what I shall laughingly call a) contest saw MHD has decaffeinated SC as though they were an all you can eat buffet residing next to a weight-watcher's clinic 54-3 in front of a despondent home crowd.
Things went very well for the MHD squad particularly on the offensive side of the ball last week as they racked up a combined 293 points, 192 on offense and 101 on defense. Chris Chambers with 26 points on offense and Nick Collins with 14 points on defense were the top scorers. All that aside, as voted on by his teammates, the most worthless player of the game goes to Matt Ryan. I've come up with a
motivational plan for every player I deem to be failing to live up to their potential..."
Says Matt Ryan, pouring out of a far-too-tight yellow bikini, "I have nothing to say about this."
David Thornton added, "Words fail me... got it? I ain't had a single night's sleep since coach made that call last Monday, man. I keep waking up screaming. I mean dang, man... time to put some time on the thigh-master."
"Dem's fightin' woids!": Fuel was added to the fire during the two teams' post game news conferences. Chip Riggs gurgled, "He and his lecherous team of cub scouts have all the football grace of a French eunuch trying to ride a bull suffering from mad cow's disease while reciting the
Gettysburg Address." In response, the SC coach considered this when he said, "Well, there's murderers, rapists, boy bands, and then there's that owner of theirs... Which is worst? Hard to tell sometimes." |
