| Game Summary (Earl Schmidt, NetFL Press) I get paid very well doing something I usually enjoy. There are, however, occasional games that I only report on under silent protest. Let me begin by being brutally honest. TH is quite the wanting team, wholly outclassed in all aspects of the game by TSI. Yikes! TH has just completed a game in which they, proverbially speaking, ate my sister's homework. To point fingers after this debacle would be unfair given that this most assuredly was a team effort - and that's the only positive spin I can put on the game.
Marshawn Lynch blathered, "Offensively, we saved our best for last, which is the best thing I can say for us. Heck, who am I kidding, man? Our best sucked."
Chris Kemoeatu considered this when he said, "Word up... I ain't showed nothin' today 'cuz dey wuz cheating. No, I ain't sayin' dat... les jus say dat if the refs had any guts, dey woulda been throwin' their little yellow hankies all over 'round me. Da way I was disrespected out there was sick, dude."
TSI has feasted upon TH like a mink that suddenly finds that a family of mice has taken up residence in her den, whipping them by the tune of 33-7 in front of a despondent home crowd. TSI leads the all-time series 13-2-1 against TH. TSI has a 2-1 regular season record. TH has a 1-2 regular season record. Things went very well for the TSI squad on both sides of the ball last week as they racked up a combined 332 points, 191 on offense and 141 on defense. Jeremy Shockey with 31 points on offense and Joey Porter with 20 points on defense were the top scorers. Mistakes dampened the mood around the locker room somewhat. Said Coach/GM Al Burns, "We have to get a lot better next week.. For one, Aaron Schobel was as sharp as a sponge today. Doc was tellin' me that he's seen all the telltale signs of... oh, I forget the medical term for it, but basically, he's a screw-up because he just isn't that bright when you get right down to it. Shoulda known when my scouts mentioned that he rode the short bus. As for those DST? They showed all the football grace of ballerinas as they filled the record book with 4 Punt returns defended, 45 Defended punt return yardage, 11.25 Defended punt return average, 4 Defended kickoff returns, 82 Defended kickoff return yardage, 20.5 Defended kickoff return average throughout the course of their pitiful performance. Overall though, the team goat in this game was Derek Anderson.
Though the game was already decided on the field, apparently neither team was done. Al Burns gurgled, "That owner of theirs kinda reminds me of a Matt Millen and Michael Jackson hybrid... all bluster, melting face, questionable personal tastes... not exactly the kind of person I'd invite to my child's birthday party." In response, the TH coach said, "Well, there's murderers, rapists, boy bands, and then there's that owner of theirs... Which is worst? Hard to tell sometimes." |
