| Game Summary (Ralph Jones, NetFL Press) Yikes! SC has just completed a game in which they, proverbially speaking, tossed a frog in the microwave. To point fingers after this debacle would be unfair given that this most assuredly was a team effort - and that's the only positive spin I can put on the game.
And so now it stands that BB trails the all-time series 6-7 against SC. BB has a 2-3 regular season record. SC has a 0-5 regular season record. The latest (what I shall laughingly call a) contest saw BB overwhelming SC as though the unfortunate loser were a snail dropped in a jar of saline solution 48-47 in front of a jeering and hostile crowd.
Things went very well for the BB squad particularly on the offensive side of the ball last week as they racked up a combined 260 points, 189 on offense and 71 on defense. Jay Cutler with 35 points on offense and Dustin Colquitt with 15 points on defense were the top scorers. Mistakes dampened the mood around the locker room somewhat. Said Coach/GM Aaron Cook, "There were some mental breakdowns on both sides of the ball.. For one, Cedric Benson was as sharp as a sponge today. Stimulus. Response. That's all there is to it. Pavlov had a dog and I've got this idiot. I've noticed that the red tazer in particular gets him ready for the games. As for those OST? They showed all the football grace of ballerinas as they filled the record book with absolutely nothing while taking the day off. Overall though, the team goat in this game was Deuce McAllister. His bad effort yielded a resigned sigh from his teammates.
"Dem's fightin' woids!": Fuel was added to the fire during the two teams' post game news conferences. Aaron Cook grumbled, "Sheesh... just mentioning their scaly hides makes me feel very unclean. They're wretched, infantile little sewer rats and I don't want to get dragged into a discussion about them. Any other questions? I need to bathe." In response, the SC coach groaned, "Gosh... why are you even wasting my time looking for a comment about them? They're kinda like cockroaches - to be sure, they occasionally crawl out of the woodwork to be seen by all, but usually, they're lurking somewhere out of sight." |
