| Game Summary (Ralph Jones, NetFL Press) OK, so not everyone who wears the uniform should be allowed to suit up. Such is most certainly the case for Jason Ferguson, the greatest goat this side of the fairytale land of satyrs, unicorns, pixies, and winning KIR seasons. This journalist found himself maintaining sanity amidst the botched stumbling of DeAngelo Williams and his sidekicks by drinking heavily and choking down moldy peanuts. Now, to KIR's credit, they willingly subjected themselves to this game, knowing full well how it was likely to turn out, but I place a great deal of blame on RNR for opting for this game over a likely more challenging foray against the Vienna Boy's Choir.
And so now it stands that RNR leads the all-time series 1-0 against KIR. RNR has a 1-4 regular season record. KIR has a 0-5 regular season record. The latest (what I shall laughingly call a) contest saw RNR has beaten KIR as though they were horses being sent to the glue factory 37-28 in front of a despondent home crowd.
Things went very well for the RNR squad even though they did not excel on either side of the ball last week as they racked up a combined 260 points, 141 on offense and 119 on defense. Steve Slaton with 23 points on offense and Charles Tillman with 18 points on defense were the top scorers. However, they were far from perfect. Said Coach/GM Randy, "We had a few breakdowns. . For one, Marshal Yanda kinda languished a bit out there. That procedure he had a couple weeks back... labotomy, I think Doc said - well, that thing has done wonders for his game. He just stands in there and takes it now - play after play after play. No more of this whining about being too hurt. Doc is brilliant, I say. As for those DST? They showed their ineptitude by amassing 1 Punt returns defended, 68 Defended punt return yardage, 68 Defended punt return average, 1 Defended punt returns / Touchdowns, 5 Defended kickoff returns, 97 Defended kickoff return yardage, 19.4 Defended kickoff return average over the course of the contest. Overall though, the as voted on by his teammates, the most worthless player in this game was Damion McIntosh. His useless effort yielded a seat alone on the ride home.
Though the game was already decided on the field, apparently neither team was done. Randy exclaimed, "Nah, I don't have anything against them. They're kinda like little bunnies or maybe pop warner rejects.... kinda cute and all, but pretty impotent when it comes to football." In response, the KIR coach waxed poetic, stating, "Nah, I don't have anything against them. They're kinda like little bunnies or maybe pop warner rejects.... kinda cute and all, but pretty impotent when it comes to football." |
