| Game Summary (Ralph Jones, NetFL Press) Yikes! TB has just completed a game in which they, proverbially speaking, gave my brother's coin collection to a pair of destitute carnies. To point fingers after this debacle would be unfair given that this most assuredly was a team effort - and that's the only positive spin I can put on the game.
And so now it stands that KIR is all knotted up in the all-time series 1-1 against TB. KIR has a 5-7 regular season record. TB has a 7-5 regular season record. The latest (what I shall laughingly call a) contest saw KIR bludgeoning TB as though they were palace eunuchs in a wrestling match 35-27 in front of a despondent home crowd.
Things went very well for the KIR squad even though they did not excel on either side of the ball last week as they racked up a combined 279 points, 170 on offense and 109 on defense. Sage Rosenfels with 26 points on offense and Shane Lechler with 21 points on defense were the top scorers. Things were not all roses, however. Said Coach/GM Kevin Snyder, "Sure, I'm a bit concerned about a few things.. For one, Adewale Ogunleye performed like a spasmodic violinist. That procedure he had a couple weeks back... labotomy, I think Doc said - well, that thing has done wonders for his game. He just stands in there and takes it now - play after play after play. No more of this whining about being too hurt. Doc is brilliant, I say. As for those DST? They showed their ineptitude by amassing 4 Punt returns defended, 27 Defended punt return yardage, 15 Defended punt return average, 13 Defended kickoff returns, 352 Defended kickoff return yardage, 55.238 Defended kickoff return average throughout the course of their pitiful performance. Overall though, the the most incompetant player in this game was Nathan Vasher. His hideous effort yielded a month in the doghouse.
Though the game was already decided on the field, apparently neither team was done. Kevin Snyder considered this when he said, "Sheesh... just mentioning their scaly hides makes me feel very unclean. They're wretched, infantile little sewer rats and I don't want to get dragged into a discussion about them. Any other questions? I need to bathe." In response, the TB coach said, "Let's see... something nice to say? Well, they're not the most repugnant team out there, but that's kinda like saying that Shockey isn't as annoying as that Owens clown." |
