| Game Summary (Ralph Jones, NetFL Press) If Golden Tate's body of work exemplifies the high-point of your weekend, you know that you're on the losing end of a sordid, sick joke of a game. Words utterly fail to describe this romp into the realms of ineptitude. When Chekhov saw the long winter, he saw a winter bleak and dark and bereft of hope. Standing here in the garish, filth-ridden stands of this now-empty stadium after the game, I got to thinking - such is truly the fate of both fans of the RNR squad. In the end, this team is just hopeless.
And so now it stands that SP trails the all-time series 2-5 against RNR. SP has a 4-3 regular season record. RNR has a 2-5 regular season record. The latest (what I shall laughingly call a) contest saw SP has publically emasculated RNR as though they were horses being sent to the glue factory 29-22 in front of a jeering and hostile crowd.
Things went very well for the SP squad particularly on the offensive side of the ball last week as they racked up a combined 289 points, 183 on offense and 106 on defense. Le'Veon Bell with 33 points on offense and Brad Nortman with 17 points on defense were the top scorers. Mistakes dampened the mood around the locker room somewhat. Said Coach/GM Michael Sutanto, "We have to get a lot better next week.. For one, Rodger Saffold kinda languished a bit out there. Doc says that he's gotten much better since he's started the electroshock therapy... something about frontal lobes and things with molecular structures. It all sounded very clinical to me, but as long as it keeps him on the field, I'm all for it. As for those NT? They showed all the football grace of ballerinas as they filled the record book with 1 Tackles while taking the day off. Overall though, the team goat in this game was Anthony Davis. His horrible effort yielded as many positives as a hydrogen ion.
There's no love lost between these two clubs. Michael Sutanto considered this when he said, "Nah, I don't have anything against them. They're kinda like little bunnies or maybe pop warner rejects.... kinda cute and all, but pretty impotent when it comes to football." In response, the RNR coach grumbled, "Who? Do they even play professional football?" |
