| Game Summary (Ralph Jones, NetFL Press) Yikes! DH has just completed a game in which they, proverbially speaking, blew up my neighbor's yard gnomes. To point fingers after this debacle would be unfair given that this most assuredly was a team effort - and that's the only positive spin I can put on the game.
And so now it stands that BB trails the all-time series 15-22-1 against DH. BB has a 5-6 regular season record. DH has a 4-7 regular season record. The latest (what I shall laughingly call a) contest saw BB has senselessly deluged DH as though the unfortunate loser were a snail dropped in a jar of saline solution 46-36 in front of a despondent home crowd.
They were almost perfect on the BB squad particularly on the offensive side of the ball last week as they racked up a combined 315 points, 207 on offense and 108 on defense. Philip Rivers with 30 points on offense and J.J. Watt with 19 points on defense were the top scorers. Things were not all roses, however. Said Coach/GM Aaron Cook, "We had a few breakdowns. . For one, Shayne Graham performed like a spasmodic violinist. Doc says that he's gotten much better since he's started the electroshock therapy... something about frontal lobes and things with molecular structures. It all sounded very clinical to me, but as long as it keeps him on the field, I'm all for it. As for those P? They showed all the football grace of ballerinas as they filled the record book with 5 Punts, 183 Total Punt yards, 36.6 Average Punt, 3 Punts inside 20 instead of playing. Overall though, the Don't Euthanize After Disaster award - given to one blundering fool each week - was really difficult to decide on this go around. I promise the poor slob that I won't be taking away his livelihood. This week, the DEAD man in this game was Kellen Clemens. His horrible effort yielded little but his position coach's fury.
There's no love lost between these two clubs. Aaron Cook shot, "Like 'em? No... not really. I'd rather strangle puppies in front of a dozen orphans than pull that wretched owner of theirs out of a burning building." In response, the DH coach considered this when he said, "Well, there's murderers, rapists, boy bands, and then there's that owner of theirs... Which is worst? Hard to tell sometimes." |
