Game Summary (Larry Smith, NetFL Press)
The football gods smiled down upon the SRS franchise this weekend. A wounded team was provided the perfect elixir, AW, at an opportune time.

Because, if it had been anyone else but the offensively challenged AW, every SRS player would be changing their ring tones to Taps this morning. Luckily, SRS ran into an opponent with much less margin for error than themselves, or they'd no doubt be nursing the losing column with yet another embarrassing loss.

One big reason that SRS can exhale today is that AW was talent-deficient enough to lose control of a game they had a chance to win. They looked so vile as they thrust our last jar of dried beef during the game and ate my sister's homework - metaphorically speaking.

The score of 93-17 in front of a jeering and hostile crowd for SRS was aided by a ferocious defense, but even larger was the help provided by a reeling opponent that constantly pushed the wrong personnel buttons. No wonder the vile AW have been such a welcome sight in opposing stadiums for so long. SRS sure caught them on the right day.

It's doubtful that the SRS defenders could have corralled a grandmother strolling across the field with the same ease as they did the AW quarterback. "Instead of him looking down the field, he was looking to see who was coming," said Tim Masthay with 36 points on defense, a huge smile on his face. "Let's just say he got rattled a little bit."

Still, SRS might not have escaped without a goto player to energize the offense - AW's very own Joe Flacco. He was relentlessly victimized, continuously torched play after play before the AW coaching staff mercifully pulled him, as he was as sharp as a sponge today.

"Picking on Joe Flacco was a part of the game plan," Eli Manning with 57 points on offense said. "We should have been doing it more in the first half of the game."

How true. When a NetFL team needs a pick-me-up, they can usually count on AW to deliver. SRS leads the all-time series 5-0 against AW. SRS has a 11-1 regular season record (2-0 in this year's playoffs) having just won the Superbowl. AW has a 8-4 regular season record (2-1 in this year's playoffs) having just lost the Superbowl.

"Dem's fightin' woids!": Fuel was added to the fire during the two teams' post game news conferences. Allen Cummings exclaimed, "I'm not saying that this is true, mind you, but I'm not saying it isn't. I heard tell that that owner of theirs has been kidnapping small children and selling them on the Chinese black market. Do I respect him? Does anyone?" In response, the AW coach shot, "I'm not saying that this is true, mind you, but I'm not saying it isn't. I heard tell that that owner of theirs has been kidnapping small children and selling them on the Chinese black market. Do I respect him? Does anyone?"
